Authorities identify Augusta woman killed in I-20 hit and run

Authorities have identified the victim of a hit-and-run accident on Interstate Highway 20 Monday, Feb. 6.

Tanya Y. Rogers, 58, of Augusta was killed at approximately 5:41 p.m. near mile marker 25. Her car was parked in the emergency lane with its flashers on when Rogers exited the car and was struck by an eastbound truck or SUV, according to a press release from the Aiken County Coroner’s Office. The vehicle did not stop.

Rogers was pronounced dead at the scene from blunt force injuries. An autopsy has been ordered, and the investigation is continuing.
