In a wanted poster released Thursday morning, the Burke County Sheriff’s office is encouraging residents to earn “Christmas” cash by turning in two murder suspects.
They are offering a cash reward of $10,000 for information leading to the arrest Jawuandre Dimera Kelly and Jordan James Perkins. The pair are wanted for a murder that occurred in Girard in July.
“This money is just in time for Christmas, so let’s bring these two fugitives to justice,” the wanted poster says.
The case stems from the shootings on Claxton Road on July 30 that injured four people and killed one. The location of the shooting was at an unlicensed bar and shot house that had been a trouble spot for law enforcement. Shortly after being rushed to the hospital, one of the victims, 34-year-old Dereck Hilton of Sardis, died from his injuries.

The investigation led to the identification of Kelly and Perkins as suspects, but they have eluded capture. Kelly is believed to have short hair at this time.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Jawuandre Kelly and Jordan Perkins is asked to contact the Burke County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division at 706-554-6633 or the Sheriff’s Office at 706-554-2133. Callers can remain anonymous!

“Christmas Cash” — AWESOME idea, and funny as all get out. “Just in time for Christmas”…
That we have to entice a person to turn in a murder suspect with the promise of money is a sad indication of just how morally bankrupt we have become.
