During the week of May 3-9, a total of 245 crimes tracked by The Augusta Press were reported to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.
Violent crime included one armed robbery, and a total of 73 assaults. Two of those assaults were classified as aggravated assaults and one as family violence.
Property crimes included 10 burglaries, 43 cases of property damage, and 56 thefts – a significant increase from the previous week.
