Michael Meyers: Another word about the Columbia County sheriff and the possibility of a steakhouse on Augusta’s southside

So much to cover so little time. So where do we start?

Yes that’s right - the Columbia County Sheriff and the more-than-an hour it took for Austin Rhodes to cover it on his show.

Sheriff Clay Whittle is not retiring - yet! He actually already announced his intentions on running for th...

  1. And still nary a word about the mayors emails that show he has used his office illegally for his re-election and card it card fraudulently. Here’s to hoping he gets to stand by Sias in a orange jumpsuit soon..I look for him to resign as soon as someone starts holding his feet to the fire..preacher my butt..the only thing he does as a preacher is be there when it’s time to count the collection plate…

  2. Mr. Meyers, I’m sorry, but your columns are some of the most exhausting things I’ve ever read! Like a butterfly or a moth, you dance around topics without saying much of anything. In every column I’ve ever read of yours, you always include “Well, I’ll write more about this later.”, or “More on this later in the column.”. Then you never seem to get back to whatever it is you were alluding to! I can’t help but think that’s your way of hoping the reader stays put??
I’ve just about come to the conclusion that I should stop reading your column because the little tidbits you seem to tease us with will come out eventually, and without being obscurely dangled before us.
You didn’t ask for it, sir, but if you want a reader’s advice, GET TO THE POINT! And stop trying to be a cute, behind-the-scenes gossiper & gadfly. If you know something, tell us.

    • He only knows the mayor is the best thing since sliced bread…but there I go getting ahead of myself again..surely there is someone with that took at least one journalism course they could hire to write a column about nothing..well I mean someone else..

  3. ” We should ALL be about teaching accurate history — the good and bad— if it’s accurate and documented history.” I could not agree more. Just the facts without any positive or negative slant. In 2022, to teach a child that they are where they are due to the racist beginnings is just BS. To teach a child that they are responsible for others being in the situation they are in is equal BS. There are too many magnificently successful people in the U.S. of all racial backgrounds to believe the system holds them back. YOU hold you back. Not anything or anyone else if you were born after 1970.
