Martinez GA 30907 and graveside service will follow at Westover Memorial Park from 11:00AM – 12:00PM. He is preceded in death by his wife: Hazel Jackson; his parents: C. Bunyan Jackson and Reba Burgamy Jackson; his siblings, Jewell, Alvin, C.B., and Cecil Jackson, Dorothy Byce, Catherine Burke, Lillian Wright, Ruby Wren, and Alfred Jackson (twin); and step granddaughter, Holly Thompson. Mr. Jackson is survived by two daughters- Brenda Sue Hardy (Bobby) and Deborah Lynn Thompson (Johnny); grandchildren- Jennifer Crabb and Crystal Salser (David); step grandson- TJ Thompson; two great granddaughters- Hannah and Hadley Salser and two step great grandchildren- Trenton and Trena Thompson; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Jackson was born in Sandersville, Ga., he graduated from Richmond Academy and joined the United States Air Force soon after. After separating from the Air Force, he spent his life as a meatcutter and retired from Armour and Sam’s Club. During his free time, he enjoyed playing golf and watching Georgia football. Mr. Jackson was known to the grandchildren as “Poppy” and left behind a grand legacy. He instilled many life lessons and shared humbling stories from his past, that will never be forgotten. He will be missed by his family and friends and we find comfort knowing we’ll see him again when we get to heaven. The family would like to give a special thanks to Amedisys Home Health Care and Theresa Cantrell for caring for our beloved Poppy. Thomas L. King Funeral Home and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.
