Entered into rest on Monday, April 25, 2022, Mrs. Catherine Jessie Burden, 67, wife of Mr. Joseph Martin Burden. Kitty was a native of Wilkes-Barre, PA and graduated from Meyers High School in 1972. As a devoted military spouse Kitty ended up in Augusta with her husband and is a member of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church. She worked at Doctor’s Hospital as a Registered Nurse for approximately 30 years. Kitty enjoyed traveling with her husband and friends. A loving wife, mother and Grandma, Kitty will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Family members in addition to her husband include her sons: Joe Burden and Eric Burden (Theresa); grandchildren: Hailey Burden, Blake Burden, and Jameson Burden; brothers: Frank Estabrook, Mike Estabrook and Roy Estabrook; brothers-in-law James Burden (Donna) and John Burden (Karen). Kitty was preceded in death by her parents James and Sadie Estabrook and several siblings. The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 28, 2022 at 5:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son, with Fr. Vernon Knight officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 4:00 P.M. and following the service until 7:00 P.M. A private interment will be at Georgia Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, GA.
