Entered into rest on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, Mrs. Mary Pauline Johnson, 95. Mary was a native of High Point, North Carolina where she worked at the War Demolition Center. She also worked at Air Base in Greensboro, North Carolina. After moving to Augusta, Georgia she was a devoted member of Martinez United Methodist Church and of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 205. She was an owner and operator of Peach Orchard Beauty Salon. Mary was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother who was fiercely protective of her family. Her soft side enjoyed working in the garden and watching the birds. Family members include her daughters: Judy English and Trudy Johnson (Joel Penson); son: Randall Johnson; grandchildren: Travis Black, Lee Johnson, Tara Winters, and Ben Johnson; 9 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; brother: Henry Hayworth Kivett, Jr. (Geraldine). Mary was preceded in death by her husband: William Lee Johnson; parents: Henry Hayworth Kivett, Sr. and Mary Sabithia Wood Kivett and sisters: Ruby Welborn and Virginia Thompson. The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Martinez United Methodist Church with Pastor Johnny Ray officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
