A Graniteville man has died after his truck ran off the road Thursday.
Gary L. Todd, 70, was driving south in his 2000 Ford Ranger truck near the 700 block of Old Tory Trail in Aiken around 11:44 a.m. Thursday when his vehicle ran off the road, struck a culvert and overturned ejecting him, according to an email from Aiken County Coroner Darryl Abels.
Todd was not wearing a seatbelt.
He was taken to Aiken Regional Medical Centers where he was pronounced dead.
No autopsy has been planned; toxicology reports are pending. South Carolina Highway
Patrol is continuing with the investigation.
Seatbelts save lives. He is a victim of his own negligence.
Why is it that in a lot of the fatal wrecks in SC the person who dies does not have on a seat belt. I thought it was the law.
