An August man died late Friday night following a motorcycle crash near eastbound mile marker 3.5 on Riverwatch Parkway, according to a press release from the Richmond County Coroner’s Office.

Justyn “Jay” Klempke, 32, died when he lost control of his motorcycle and struck the center median wall, according to the release. He was pronounced dead on the scene at 10:35 p.m. Friday, Coroner Mark Bowen said.

Klempke was remembered online as an amazing guy who was taken too soon.

Megan Collins said that will never understand why these things have to happen.

“Jay Klempke, you were always there for me and had my back no matter what,” Collins wrote on Facebook. “You got me through some of the hardest times in my life. We had a special bond from the beginning and I am grateful to have had you in my life. I just can’t believe my hype man is gone. All I can say is tell the people in your life you love them and take those pictures. I am thankful for the years of memories with you.  Fly high, Jay. I love you.”

According to a post on his Facebook page, Klempke had just purchased a new motorcycle, a 2024 R3.

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe page was set up for funeral costs. “My family is in desperate need of help right now to pay for funeral costs etc,” Tyler Klempke said. “Anything helps and will be appreciated and loved.”
