Two Aiken County men are being sought in the shooting death of a Graniteville man whose remains were burned and buried twice in shallow graves.

Thomas William Guinn, 30, of Windsor, and Michael Dewayne Williams Jr., 35, of Aiken, are both wanted for murder and weapon possession in the death of John Belote. Donald Britton and Cody Wooten have already been arrested for accessory after the fact to murder and desecration of human remains.

John Belote

Britton is the father of the victim’s ex-girlfriend who had Belote arrested many times for abuse and violation of a restraining order.

Britton, Wooten and Guinn are accused of moving Belote’s body from a field on Spring Branch Road to 916 Windsor Road. The body was burned and buried in a shallow grave. The suspects then dug the body up and moved it again to a another shallow grave at 379 Wendy Lane in Windsor. The incidents took place on June 28 and July 11, authorities said.

If anyone has any information that would lead to the whereabouts of Guinn and Williams, contact the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office at 803-648-6811.

Belote, 40, was reported missing nearly three weeks ago by his daughter, who said her father had argued with Britton and planned to confront him. She never heard from him again.
