Two victims were shot on Windsor Spring Road and were treated at the Walmart Neighborhood Market in Hephzibah.

Authorities say the two victims were transported to the hospital for treatment. The sheriff’s office initially released few details, except that deputies responded to the 3600 block of Windsor Spring Road for a shooting and located the victims.

On Saturday, the sheriff’s office said the shooting actually happened elsewhere. “This incident occurred on the 4200 block of Windsor Spring Road and the injured subjects then drove to the 3600 block of Windsor Spring Road (Walmart) where Deputies initially responded,” sheriff’s Sgt. John Perry said.

On social media, a resident posted an image of someone being treated outside the Walmart Neighborhood Market at 3697 Windsor Spring Road. There were also reports the store closed early because of the shooting. The store usually closes at 11 p.m., according to a store website.

A witness said a male had been shot in the neck and a female was shot in the leg. Coroner Mark Bowen said at 10 p.m. Friday that his office had not been called about a death.
