2024 GAMES scholarship recipients announced

The Augusta Sports Council Board of Directors recently announced the recipients of their annual GAMES scholarship program. Each recipient received an $1,000 scholarship.

The selected recipients had to be from Richmond, Columbia, Burke, McDuffie, Wilkes, Warren, Aiken, or Edgefield counties.

The criteria for the scholarship was based on performance in the classroom, their performance on their athletic team, and their positive impact on their local community.

The recipients of the 2024 GAMES scholarship are as follows:

  • Claire Baird, a student at Academy of Richmond County
  • Hudson Burch, a student at Lakeside High School
  • Omari Fields, a student at Lakeside High School
  • Walker Geddes, a student at North Augusta High School
  • Amelia Harper, a student at Aiken High School
  • Gerald Lark Jr., a student at Silver Bluff High School
  • Evan Waldhauer, a student at North Augusta High School
  • Katie Welsh, a student at Aquinas High School
  • Issac Westbrook, a student at Strom Thurmond High School
  • Travis Wright Jr., a student at Academy of Richmond County
