A fifth man has been arrested in connection with the death of an Augusta man whose body was found dumped on Watkins Pond Road near McBean in July.
Ramando C. Williams, 18, of 2804 Thomas Lane, is the latest man to be taken into custody in the death of Morris Harden Jr.
Burke County Sheriff’s Office Investigators and the U. S. Marshals announced the arrest Friday. Williams was charged with Murder and Possession of a Firearm during the commission of a crime.
Burke County deputies found the body of Morris Harden Jr. of Dyer Street in Augusta lying on the side of the road. He’d been shot and killed at a home on Ninth Avenue in Augusta and dumped in the 1200 block of Watkins Pond Road, according to earlier reports.

Ramando Cartrellis Moore, 38, of 812 Landing Court Grovetown was taken into custody Aug. 11 by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office and transported to the Burke County Detention Center. Moore has been charged with Murder, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Crime and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
Another three arrests were made Aug. 3.
Willie Warren Johnson 51, of 2024 Grand Blvd., has been charged with Murder, Kidnapping and tampering with evidence; Carl Grady Rouse 61, of 2614 Brookshire Dr. Augusta, has been charged with Murder, Kidnapping and tampering with evidence; and Albert Killebrew III, who is listed as homeless, has been charged with Murder, Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Johnson and Rouse are currently in The Burke County detention center, and Killebrew is in the Richmond County detention center on unrelated charges.
In the Sept. 2 email from Capt. Jimmy Wylds, he indicated additional arrests were forthcoming.
