Advanced voting ends, Election Day is Feb. 13 for House District 125 special election

Advanced voting ended on Friday, Feb. 9 for the House District 125 special election, and now the only other time to vote is on Election Day.

During the three weeks of advanced voting, 879 residents in Columbia County cast their ballots, said Nancy Gay, executive director of the Columbia County Board of Elections. As of Friday, 28 out of 35 absentee by mail ballots had been received.

With advanced voting over, the only opportunity for residents in House District 125 to now vote is on Election Day, Feb. 13. All 15 precincts will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Gay said. This is not a countywide election, and voters should call the Board of Elections at 706-868-3355 My Voter Page on the Georgia Secretary of State website for precinct location.

Residents who vote at the following precincts are able to vote:

010 – Kiokee Baptist Church

016 – Woodlawn Baptist Church

020 – Harlem Branch Library

022 – Harlem Senior Center

024 – Second Mt. Moriah Baptist Church

025 – the Former Euchee Creek Library

030 – Liberty Park

031 – Grovetown Methodist Church

032 – Greater Augusta Apostolic Church

033 – Grovetown DPS Station #2

034 – Grovetown Branch Library

040 – Eubank Blanchard Community Center

062 – Parkway Baptist Church

068 – Parkway Elementary School

075 – Belair Baptist Church

There are five candidates running in this race: CJ Pearson (Republican), Gary Richardson (Republican), Jim Steed (Republican), Kay Turner (Democrat) and John Turpish (Libertarian).
