The trailer for a film shot in Augusta last spring has been released.

“Agent Game” starring Mel Gibson and Dermot Mulroney will hit theaters April 8 according to several Hollywood publications.

The action-thriller was shot in several locations in the Augusta area in April 2021. Many Augustans posted on social media when they saw Mel Gibson brandishing a prop gun on Broad Street.

“Agent Game” features a CIA agent played Mulroney who has been made the scapegoat in an investigation that results in the death of a detainee. The movie features Katherine McNamara, Katie Cassidy and Jason Isaacs.

Augusta, Thomson and Evans were among the locations where the film was shot.

Downtown Augusta doubled as Washington, D.C. with the buildings at Seventh and Broad Streets giving off the vibe with its mix of classic architecture and 1960s tall black building. The Sibley Mill gave the feeling of an abandoned building in Eastern Europe, Grant S. Johnson, the film’s director, said in an April 24 2021 article in The Augusta Press.
