Aiken County arrests Aiken man in June 8 Graniteville shooting death

The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office has arrested an Aiken man in the June 8 death of a man in Graniteville.

Police took suspect Christion Reeves, 22, into custody Thursday without incident, according to a news release.

Reeves is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime in the death of Richard Carroll Jr., 23.

An investigation into Carroll’s death began after deputies responded reports of a man with a gunshot wound at an Augusta hospital, according to prior reports.

The investigation determined the shooting occurred at a home on Red Rock Way in Graniteville.
