Aiken County Investigators search for man wanted in connection with a Tuesday kidnapping

Aiken County investigators are seeking the community’s assistance for any information that would lead to the whereabouts and arrest of Rahem Laquan Devoe.

Devoe is wanted for Domestic Violence in the First Degree and Kidnapping. These outstanding warrants stem from the report of a missing child.

Around 8:15 p.m. Feb. 15, deputies responded to the gas station located at 5412 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Beech Island for a reported missing child, according to a new release.

Investigators determined that Devoe and the mother of the child had a verbal argument which turned into a physical assault.

Devoe drove away in the victim’s car with Kashous Gordon, 6, in the car. Kashous was later brought back to the gas station. The victim’s car was also found at 4667 Jefferson Davis Hwy.

 It was reported that Devoe was armed with a handgun when he drove away from the gas station, the release said.
