Aiken County public schools cancels classes for students Thursday

Aiken County Public School District announced Wednesday afternoon that due to the rainfall expected Wednesday evening, along with expected high winds, students will not report to school on Thursday, Aug. 31.

“ACPSD employees on 190-day contracts or more, including teachers, administrators, school office staff, district employees, maintenance, etc. will report to work on a delayed start, with schools and buildings opening at 10 a.m.,” the news release said. 

Students will make up the day off on Friday, Oct. 20 as stated in the 2023-2024 school calendar.

Tomorrow’s day off for students will be made up on Friday, October 20, as designated by our 2023-2024 school year calendar.
