A 90-year-old Aiken man on a three-wheel electric bicycle was struck and killed Tuesday while riding in rush hour traffic on University Highway, authorities said.
John Pallazo was traveling east on University Parkway near Arbor Court just before 5 p.m. Tuesday when he was struck by a Toyota Tundra driving the same direction. The bike rider was rushed to Aiken Regional Medical Centers, where he died at 5:34 p.m., Coroner Darryl Ables said in a press release.
The fatality is being investigated by the Aiken Department of Public Safety, along with the coroner’s office. Toxicology analysis is pending.
