An early morning raid by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team and Narcotics Investigators on Thursday resulted in a significant drug seizure and arrest on Kousa Lane SW in Aiken.
Deputies, with assistance from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), executed a search warrant at a residence, uncovering nearly 400 grams of fentanyl, multiple pills, marijuana, several firearms – including some that were reported stolen – and over $13,000 in cash.
Robert Anthony Jackson, a 34-year-old Aiken resident, was taken into custody at the scene. He has been charged with trafficking in fentanyl, trafficking in methamphetamine or cocaine base, possession with intent to distribute near a school, possession of a stolen firearm, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
The Sheriff’s Office emphasized the operation as part of a broader effort to curb narcotics distribution and gun violence in the area.
Jackson is the same man arrested in 2016 after a raid on Bell Drive in the Beech Island area. He was charged at the time with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and operating a stash house. He had a previous Richmond County charge for robbery as a youth, which was pled down to theft by taking with probation.
