Aiken man killed in shooting outside Burger King

Aiken police are investigating the murder of a local man at the Burger King that left a second man injured.

Alan “Jizzle” Black Jr., 31, and a second man were shot in the parking lot of the York Street restaurant around 8:40 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, according to Coroner Darryl Ables.

Both victims were rushed to Aiken Regional Medical Centers where Black was pronounced dead shortly after 10 p.m., the coroner said. The second victim, identified only as a Black male, was still being treated Thursday morning at the hospital for his injuries, according to a press release from the Aiken Department of Public Safety.

No motive or suspect has been announced.  

“Information from the community is vital to solving this and any crime,” the ADPS release says. “Anyone with information on this crime is urged to call Aiken Department of Public Safety at (803) 642-7620 or submit an anonymous online tip at Crime Tip | City of Aiken, S.C. Government (cityofaikensc.gov).”

Black, who was known to many as “Jizzle” was being remembered on Facebook.

Natrice Moment posted, “Woke up hoping it was all a dream hoping my eyes didn’t see what they did not knowing our last goodbye would be just that literally watching you grow from a little boy to a man.  Ain’t no way you left us like this cuz. Emotions are high and hurt is an understatement. Just know I remember Jizzle from them late nights to early mornings. The memories lord, I thank you for them. This one I just can’t shake. We love you black burner. You left some bleeding hearts with this one.”
