Date: October 05, 2025

An Aiken man died Saturday afternoon following a two-vehicle crash that ended with both vehicles in a pond, according to local authorities.

Jacob Langley, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:40 p.m., approximately 20 minutes after the collision, Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables said in a press release.

The crash occurred at 1:03 p.m. at the intersection of Wagener Road and Flowing Wells Road, near Neese’s Lake. A 1991 GMC Sonoma and a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado were both traveling east on Wagener Road when the Chevrolet struck the GMC as it attempted to make a left turn onto Flowing Wells Road. The impact caused both vehicles to crash into a nearby pond.

Langley’s body will undergo an autopsy next week in Newberry.

The driver and a passenger in the Chevrolet Silverado sustained non-life-threatening injuries, according to the coroner.

The Aiken County Coroner’s Office and the S.C. Highway Patrol are continuing to investigate the incident.

A fundraiser has been launched by Langley’s aunt, Lynn Williams, to help cover funeral expenses.

“His family is understandably in shock and completely unprepared financially to pay for funeral expenses. None of us expect to bury our children,” she wrote. “I am asking, on their behalf, if you could find it in your heart to donate.”
