Aiken Police Identify Suspects in Aldrich Street Murder

Aiken police have identified two of three suspects in the Aug. 18 shooting death of a local man.

Dontell Daniel Harling, 19, is charged with murder in the fatal shooting of 31-year-old Earnest S. Croft.

Antonio Jerome Wise, 18, of Aiken, is being sought on a murder charge.  A third suspect is involved but investigators are still working to identify the individual, according to Lt. Jennifer Hayes with Aiken Public Safety.

On Aug. 18, the victim’s body was found in the driveway of a home on Aldrich Street near Schroder Avenue. The discovery was made by officers patrolling the area after a call of shots fired shortly before 11 p.m. that day.

Wise was arrested Saturday by the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Department and Edgefield Police Department. He is being held on charges of murder and weapon possession.
