Aiken Tech, Rolls-Royce Power Systems launch pre-apprenticeship

Aiken Technical College (ATC) and Rolls-Royce Power Systems have partnered on a new pre-apprenticeship machine tool technology pathway set to launch in January through Aiken Tech’s Office of Continuing Education.

An in-person information session is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 6, at 5:30 p.m. in Building F, Room 117-A on Aiken Tech’s campus., located in Graniteville at 2276 Jefferson Davis Highway.

The program is designed to prepare students for careers in precision manufacturing and machining. According to the college, the curriculum will cover:

  • Precision measurement
  • Material handling
  • Job planning
  • Drill press
  • Manual milling
  • Turning
  • Metal cutting
  • CNC programming and operations
  • Grinding skills

The pre-apprenticeship will be offered at no cost for eligible South Carolina residents, with additional details on eligibility to be provided at the session, according to a press release from ATC.

Attendees can hear from representatives of Aiken Tech and Rolls-Royce Power Systems and may complete enrollment paperwork on site.
