An Aiken woman has died from injuries suffered in a Wednesday morning fire that also killed her mother, authorities said.

Concetta Spann, 35, was pronounced dead Thursday afternoon at Doctors Hospital in Augusta from injuries sustained in the house fire that also claimed the life of her mother, 65-year-old Sylvia Spann.

Her daughter was transported to Doctors Hospital in critical condition, but succumbed to her injuries Thursday, the coroner said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Aiken Department of Public Safety.
