Another Broken Egg in Augusta hosts grand opening

Date: March 13, 2024

High-end brunch café Another Broken Egg held its grand opening, Tuesday morning, celebrating a promising first few weeks, according to its CEO.

The Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce partnered with regional managers and representatives from the Orlando, Fl.-based chain to usher in the restaurant’s new location at the Washington Walk Shopping Center, next to Kroger.

The diner was already serving guests at 10 a.m., when the ribbon-cutting started. The menu’s seasonal offerings included creole shrimp benedict, a s’mores waffle and lemon pound cake French toast.

“I’m excited about this,” said District 7 Commissioner Sean Frantom, lauding the new eatery’s development along the Washington Road corridor, near the Augusta National. “This is the missing piece in this district that we needed.”

Another Broken Egg’s Augusta location is the chain’s 98th, with its nearest sites outside of Augusta in Columbia and Athens. The restaurant hired some 60 employees, including three salaried managers.

The brunch spot has already had considerable traffic since opening late last month, said CEO Paul Macaluso. While he could not disclose sales numbers, Macaluso noted that they’re about 20% higher than the expected average for having launched so soon.

“In terms of our opening volume, this is really nice,” he said. “You know, when you open a new store and you spend  over a million bucks to build something you’re like, ‘Okay, well this hopefully will do what it’s supposed to do.’ So it’s rewarding.”

Another Broken Egg is located at 1095 Alexander Drive and Ste. 100. For more information visit its website at www.anotherbrokenegg.com.
