The search for two missing men has resumed in Little River at Cherokee Park on Clarks Hill Lake.
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Ontario Jones says the search resumed just before 9 a.m. Tuesday. Searchers worked until 8 p.m. on Monday.
The search began Sunday afternoon when a man fell off a pontoon boat and failed to resurface. A man on a nearby pontoon boat jumped in to help, but he failed to resurface, as well.
Georgia Department of Natural Resources spokesman Mark McKinnon said they have not yet released the names of the men.
“We are still looking for one more immediate family member before we officially release names. We think it is better for family to hear the difficult news from our officers than on TV or online,” McKinnon said.
