Community Shred Day
Bring old tax returns, credit card and bank statements, old pay stubs or medical and dental papers to a free “safeguard against identity theft” event.
A community shred day will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 18 at the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, 400 Walton Way.
No binders, clips, plastic covers, batteries, CDs or DVDs or cases, cardboard or magazines.
Richmond County tire recycling event
The City of Augusta is hosting a scrap tire recycling event from 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, May 21, at the Augusta-Richmond County Landfill, 4330 Deans Bridge Rd.
The event is open to Richmond County residents who may bring an unlimited number of automotive tires. Tires may be on or off the rim. Tires will not be accepted from businesses or commercial customers, and business vehicles are not permitted.

Individuals must provide proof of Richmond County residency.
Scrap tires are not picked up during curbside collections.
E-Waste recycling with Tech 4 Success
An e-waste recycling event will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 17.
Bring old computers, outdated technology and replaced components to the Georgia Cyber Center at the food truck parking pad on the west end of the parking deck along 12th street.
Tech 4 Success is in a year long push to collect one million pounds of electronic waste.
“It is going to be a tall order for us to achieve, but with community support I am pretty sure that we can reach this goal,” said Richard Green, Tech 4 Success owner said, in an article about the event at the Clubhou.se website.
