An armed robbery suspect is wanted for the theft of approximately $200 from a Circle K on Furys Ferry Road early Wednesday morning.

Richmond County deputies responded to the Augusta store at 2:44 a.m. after a man entered the business, brandished a small firearm with a design on it, and demanded money from the cashier. The suspect fled on foot toward Riverwatch Parkway.

The suspect, identified as Cameron Bryce Renew, is described as a White male, about 5’5” tall and weighing 160 pounds, wearing a green camouflage sweater and blue jeans. Security cameras at the store were not functioning, limiting available information. Deputies established a perimeter in the surrounding wooded area and deployed a K-9 unit, but the suspect was not located.

While responding to the robbery, deputies were alerted to a disabled vehicle nearby. The car, a 2013 Ford Fusion registered to Renew’s mother. Renew matches the suspect description and has a history of similar offenses, authorities said. His mother told authorities that Renew had taken the vehicle without her knowledge and that she did not know his current location.

Renew is now wanted on active warrants in connection with the armed robbery. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to contact the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office at (706) 821-1020, or (706) 821-1080.
