Armed suspects rob Waffle House in Augusta Wednesday

Date: January 19, 2022

Richmond County authorities are looking for two suspects who robbed a Waffle House early Wednesday.

The incident happened just after 3 a.m. Wednesday at the restaurant on Mike Padgett Highway.  A shift supervisor told authorities that two black males between 20 and 25 years old entered the restaurant and sat down. They ordered drinks and then got up from their tables.

The suspect in the blue hoodie pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded she open the register, a report says. He made her put the money in a to-go bag and then reached across the counter and lifted the till to see if there was anything underneath.

“After they took the money, they left on foot towards Apple Valley Drive,” the report said.

A customer told authorities that the subject in the blue hoodie pointed the handgun at him and told him to stay seated. He said the man in the black hoodie also had a handgun.

Authorities say the blue hoodie reads “Silver Bluff Football.”

A wanted poster says these subjects are considered armed and dangerous and to use caution.

Anyone with information concerning these subjects, please contact Inv. Britney Jones (706) 821-4850, or any On-Duty Investigator at the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office (706) 821-1020 or (706) 821-1080.
