Authorities have made an arrest in the Nov. 7 killing of Jamal Richardson, whose body was discovered early the next morning in Windsor.

The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office announced that 21-year-old Christopher Jamal James, of Aiken, was taken into custody Monday and charged in Richardson’s death. Investigators say James and an unnamed co-defendant allegedly lured Richardson to 126 Old School Road, where the victim was robbed and shot in the chest.

Deputies responded to the address around 4:47 a.m. on Nov. 8, after witnesses found Richardson suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

James is charged with murder, criminal conspiracy and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He is currently being held at the Aiken County Detention Center.

The investigation remains active. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office at 803-642-1761.
