Augusta’s newest healthy spot Clean Eatz opened Thursday. The Wilmington-based franchise forgoes the soda fountain and grease for health-conscious options.
A steady stream of patrons stopped by the restaurant less than an hour after it opened its doors for the first time ever, with some sticking around to eat and others ducking out with to-go orders.
“It’s been a crazy first day, but that’s good!” Jada Knight said, who owns the franchise.

While most diners wandered in to try the hot options, some merely perused the row of freezers containing pre-prepared meals like pizzas, breakfasts, and family-sized meals and took their pick.
The concept of Clean Eatz is centered on providing hot, fresh food at any time, yes, but also features pre-prepared single meals and larger-size meal plans. More on those here.
Knight said more than 75 people have already signed up for the weekly meal plan system, which will go live in roughly two weeks. Two emails per week go out with the plan, one describing the week’s constantly rotating menu and another reminding diners to sign up if they want to opt in for that week or month.
The restaurant also sports a wide variety of smoothies, protein shakes and materials to make your own that are packaged and placed around the store.
Clean Eatz will provide another option alongside Five Guys and Pita located in the budding shopping center off Walton Way Extension.
