Le Chat Noir was the site of the Black Cat Picture Show over the weekend, and while that film viewing is over, another independent film will be shown Wednesday at the venue.
“No Ordinary Man,” the story of Billy Tipton, was co-written by Augusta native Amos Mac, who has written for shows such as the new “Gossip Girl” on HBO Max and “Y: The Last Man” on FX for Hulu.

The film focuses on Billy Tipton, a jazz musician who lived from 1914 to 1989 as a man although Tipton was born a woman. According to a 1998 article in The New York Times not even those closest to Tipton knew the secret.
The free screening will begin at 7 p.m.; doors will open at 6:30 p.m. There will be a question-and-answer session with Mac following the screening.
