Quarterbacks

Brooks Pangle (Sr., Greenbrier)

190/314 passing for 2,834 yards and 21 TDs (only 1 int.) in just 10 games. In two seasons as starter, Pangle threw for 5,700 yards and 52 touchdowns.

Remedee Leaphart (Sr., Ridge Spring Monetta)

134/241 passing for 2,208 yards 26 TDs. Rushed for 715 yards and 10 TDs on just 115 carries. Led team to 9-3 record.

Dalen Cobb (Sr., Wash-Wilkes)

103/174 for 1630 yards and 17 TDs passing. Rushed for 1,437 yards and 21 TDs on 154 carries. Led team to state quarterfinals. He has signed to play at Georgia Southern in Statesboro, Ga.

Keithan Washington (Jr., Denmark-Olar)

115/165 passing for 1,686 yards and 16 TDs. Also rushed for 1,838 yards and 34 TDs on 221 attempts. Had two kick return TDs and ran back an interception for another score. Region 3-A Player of the Year and 1st Team All-State.

Running Backs

Trae’Von Dunbar (Soph., Silver Bluff)

212 carries, 1,959 yards and 28 TDs on the ground. Seven receptions for 148 yards and a TD.

Led team to a state runner-up finish and in 17 career varsity games, he has scored 48 touchdowns.

Zack Blackwell (Sr., Augusta Christian)

Rushed for 2,201 yards and 26 TDs on 221 carries and led the Lions to a 9-3 mark. For his career, Blackwell rushed for over 5,200 yards and 62 touchdowns. Also had 59 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, and 8 sacks this season on defense.

Tyler Smith (Jr., Barnwell)

254 carries for 2,004 yards and 30 TDs this season, including a 45-carry 360-yard game in the playoffs. Also had 3 TD receptions and 64 tackles on defense.

Joe Hampton (Sr., Evans)

Led Evans to 2nd Round of the Class AAAAAA Playoffs. Rushed for 1,425 yards and 19 TDs on 159 carries. Also had a 96-yard kickoff return.

Zay Green (Sr., Westside)

In just eight games, Green amassed 1,457 yards and 17 TDS. He had four 200-yard games and helped lead Westside to a 9-win season and the second round of the state playoffs.

Jontavious Curry (Thomson)

Helped lead Thomson to an 11-1 season. Arguably the most electrifying player in the area. Rushed for 1,263 yards and 10 TDs on just 118 carries. Also had 3 TD Receptions and a kick return TD.

Joseph Jean (Grovetown), Temarcus Elam (Lakeside), Jason Williams (Harlem), Tevin Gartrell (Lincoln Co.), DJ Curry (North Augusta), Javon Edwards (South Aiken), Tiger Williams (Burke Co.), A’Chean Durant (McCormick).

Wide Receivers

Malik Leverett (Jr., Greenbrier)

Set an area record for receptions with 77 grabs for 1,326 yards and 8 TDs. Also had 6 TDs rushing, 2 TDs passing and 1 kick return TD. Led all of Class AAAAAA in catches. Leverett has more than half a dozen D-1 program offers.

Carl Holmes (Soph., Laney)

58 receptions for 685 yards and 7 TDs, also rushed for 247 yards and had a kick return for a score as well.

Jon-Jon Howard (Sr., Harlem)

Howard caught 38 passes for 650 yards and 6 TDs for the usually run-happy Bulldogs. He also played stellar defense from the cornerback spot.

Honorable Mention, Wide Receivers

Eric Grant (Hephzibah), DJ Walton (Evans), Jamarious Lockett (RS-Monetta), Tyleke Mathis (Saluda), Quinzaibian Jackson (Wash-Wilkes)

Offensive Line

Davin Driskell (Sr., Greenbrier) Tight End

Driskell used his 6’6 frame to haul in 36 balls for 663 yards and 9 TDs. He has some D-I offers, including Virginia.

Trey Morris (Sr., Evans)

Has recently picked up a pair of scholarship offers. Known as the hardest worker on a solid Evans offensive line. The Knights offense piled up over 4,200 yards and 45 TDs on the season.

Nick Williams (Sr., Fox Creek)

6’5, 305 lb. standout who has over a dozen offers including Arkansas, Auburn, FSU, Florida, Ga. Tech, Michigan St., Miss. St., Tennessee, Penn St. and NC State.

Daijuan Kendrick (Sr., Thomson)

Leader on a Thomson offensive line that helped generate over 3,000 yards rushing and 45 total touchdowns. Big time leader throughout his career.

O’Marion Jackson (Sr., Wash-Wilkes)

One of the most dominant lineman in the area and maybe even in the state. Jackson had pancake blocks and led an offensive front that opened holes for one of the highest scoring teams in Georgia.

Corey Heath (Sr., Silver Bluff)

Border Bowl and Palmetto Bowl selection. Great student and his smarts carried over to the field, where he was a leader on one of the best offenses in South Carolina. Helped lead the Bulldogs to an 11-1 season.

Justin Brett (WACO), Mason Short (Evans), Jayden Bourns (Evans), Donald Owens (Lincoln Co.)

Robert Williams (Bamberg-Ehrhardt), Greg Grace (Laney), Micola Walker (Wash-Wilkes), Levi Brock (Wash-Wilkes)

Kickers

Drew Stevens (Sr., North Augusta)

Has signed on to play at Iowa. Selected to S.C. North/South All-Star Game and Border Bowl. Made nine field goals this season, including two field goals over 50 yards and another four kicks beyond 40 yards. Had an amazing 47 touchbacks this season.

Sean Metcalfe (Sr., Westside)

Made 32 of 36 PATs and nailed 7 field goals this season, including a 45 yarder as time expired to win a state playoff game. Was also one of the top punters in the area.
