Top Performances

There were more incredible numbers put up this week.

Kaleb Hutchinson (Sr., Westside)

Hutchinson was all over the field in Westside’s huge win over Jefferson Co. He had 14 tackles, two tackles for loss, a fumble recovery and interception on defense. On offense, he caught ]four passes for 54 yards, including a spectacular 35-yard reception that flipped the entire momentum of the game in Westside’s favor. The 14-12 win locked up a home playoff game for Round One of the GHSA Playoffs.

Zack Blackwell (Sr., Augusta Christian)

Blackwell helped Augusta Christian rally for a 56-40 win over Ben Lippen on Senior Night for the Lions. He rushed for 223 yards and three touchdowns on just 18 carries and had 13 tackles and three tackles for loss on defense.

Malik Leverett (Jr., Greenbrier)

Leverett continued his incredible second half of the season with 11 catches for 153 yards and a touchdown in The Pack’s 42-27 loss to Jackson Co. He is among the state leaders in every receiving category with 68 catches for 1,249 yards and eight TD grabs.

Brooks Pangle (Sr., Greenbrier)

It was a rainy night, and Pangle had more incompletions than normal. However, there were several dropped passes and the record-breaking QB still managed to go 25 of 54 for 323 yards and a TD vs. a very solid Jackson Co. team.

Temarcus Elam (Sr., Lakeside)

The Panthers routed Grovetown, who lost its top two players to injuries in the game, 37-7. Elam was a big reason why. He notched his 4th consecutive 100-yard game as he went for 135 yards and three scores on 19 carries. This talented junior gets better every time he steps on the field.

Keshaun Sanders (Jr., Laney)

Sanders threw for 160 yards and a pair of TDs as Laney rallied past Oglethorpe Co. 30-14 to lock up a post-season berth. The Wildcats are now 6-3 and have won three of their last four games.
