Augusta University Health’s President Brooks A. Keel announced the expansion of the facility’s vaccination clinics in a video on the university’s website posted March 1.

The Employee Health and Wellness COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic opens March 18 for all AU Health System employees and Augusta University faculty and staff who meet current vaccination criteria.

“COVID-19 vaccinations will be administered bi-weekly on Thursday afternoons by appointments available as time permits,” he said.

The vaccination expansion that Governor Brian Kemp announced Feb. 26, which includes teachers of students in K-12 in both public and private schools, does not include all faculty and staff at Augusta University, Keel said.

“We will certainly let you know when and if this changes,” he said.

The university’s campus reported two new faculty and staff COVID-19 cases and five new student cases between February 20-26, bringing the cumulative faculty and staff total to 132 and the cumulative student total to 221 for the spring semester.

“Your adherence to strict guidelines continues to keep our campus cases relatively low and I am thankful,” Keel said in the video.
