Augusta Area Libraries to Close Until Jan. 31

Augusta, GA Public Library.

Date: January 23, 2021

All Augusta-Richmond County Public Library System (ARCPLS) branches will be closed to the public due to COVID-19 through Jan. 31.

Library officials request patrons do not put any books in the book drop boxes because there will be no staff on duty to process them. There will be no fines during this time, according to a news release from the library system.

On Feb. 1,  all ARCPLS branches will go back to phase one of the reopening process with curbside pickup only. Patrons may place holds on materials for pickup online through their PINES account or by calling the library. Library staff will call to let patrons know when their items are available and schedule a curbside pickup time.

Library officials ask for 24 to 48 hours to get the materials prepared. Pickup times will be Monday through Saturday between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Staff will quarantine the books 72 hours after returns.
