Augusta Commissioner Francine Scott has been appointed to the National League of Cities 2022 Finance, Administration and Intergovernmental Relations Federal Advocacy Committee.
According to a press release from City Administrator Odie Donald, Scott was elected to a one-year term and will provide strategic direction and guidance for National League of Cities’ federal advocacy agenda and policy priorities. The appointment was announced by organization President Mayor Vince Williams of Union City, Ga.
“I am honored to represent the City of Augusta in this capacity as I work with other municipal
leaders in developing policy positions on issues involving intergovernmental relations and
protecting the interests of cities in federal tax reform efforts,” said Scott.

As a member of the committee, Scott will play a key role among a diverse group of
local leaders in shaping organizational policy positions and in advocating on behalf of America’s
municipalities before Congress, with the administration and at home, according to the press release.
“NLC’s federal advocacy committees are a key tool for gathering insights directly from the
communities that our members serve,” said Williams. “I am excited to have Scott serve on the 2022 Finance, Administration and Intergovernmental Relations Committee and look forward to working with her to fulfill the promise of America’s cities, towns and villages.”
The full leadership of this year’s committee will consist of Chair Matt Orlando, council member
for the city of Chandler, Ariz.; Vice Chair Yvette Colbourne, vice mayor for the city of
Miramar, Fla.; and Vice Chair Brandon Jones, deputy mayor pro tem for the city of
Lewisville, Texas.
