Augusta firefighters battle blaze off of Walton Way

The Augusta Fire Department was summoned to a structure fire around 2:30 p.m. Friday, June 16.

Upon arrival, fire fighters found the home, located at 926 Moore Ave. near the intersection of Walton Way, fully involved. Five fire department vehicles were needed to battle the midday blaze.

Fire department spokesperson Chiquita Richardson says it appears the home was unoccupied, and it appears no one was injured. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
