Augusta Libraries Get Closer to Reopening

All Augusta-Richmond County Public Library System (ARCPLS) branches will return to phase three of the reopening process beginning Monday, March 22, according to a news release from the library system.

Hours will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The Headquarters Library will remain closed on Sundays.

Patrons will be allotted 45 minutes to use computers. They may browse  and  check out materials from all library branches. 

COVID-19 safety measures will remain in place including mandatory masks for all patrons, fewer available computers and limited seating.  Library programs continue to be suspended. Library staff will wear masks and gloves. Sneeze guards are at the counters, and hand sanitizer is available for patron usage.

Book drops are open. Books will be quarantined for 72 hours after returns. No fines will accrue during this period.
