An Augusta man is wanted for allegedly breaking into the home of his child’s mother and committing anal sex on the woman’s 12-year-old child, authorities said.

Demetrius McBride, 42, is accused of entering the window of the 12-year-old girl during the night, putting his hand over her mouth and threatening to kill her if she screamed. He then allegedly took her outside and committed anal sex on the girl, according to warrants.

It was around 1 a.m. Aug. 25 when the suspect allegedly went to the home of his child’s mother and targeted the window of the woman’s other child, who is not his child. The girl told authorities that McBride told her she would die if she yelled out.

McBride is wanted on charges of kidnapping, burglary in the first degree and aggravated sodomy.

The suspect was just arrested in July for dealing heroin and meth and possessing marijuana. He was freed on bond at some point. McBride was also accused of trafficking heroin and dealing marijuana in 2018, but he was acquitted of the charges during a 2021 jury trial.
