A 55-year-old Augusta man has died following a crash involving an electric scooter and a pickup truck on Tuesday morning, according to Coroner Mark Bowen.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Peach Orchard Road and Harding Road in Augusta. Larry Tesseo, the victim, was riding an electric scooter when he was struck by a southbound pickup truck. Tesseo was rushed to Wellstar MCG Health for treatment of his injuries.
Despite efforts to save him, Tesseo was pronounced dead at the hospital at 4:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Coroner Bowen confirmed. The exact cause of death was due to the injuries sustained in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation by authorities, and further details on the circumstances leading up to the collision have not yet been released.
