An Augusta man died at the hospital Thursday afternoon from injuries suffered in a shooting at a gas station on Milledgeville Road.
Dominic Lamar Brown, 27, of East Boundary Street, was shot at least once on Monday afternoon at the Short Stop, located at 2510 Milledgeville Road in Augusta. He was taken to Augusta University Medical Center in critical condition and died Thursday.
The sheriff’s office has not released any suspect information or possible motive as the investigation continues. The case marks Richmond County’s 22nd recorded homicide for the year.
Deputies who responded to the 5:18 p.m. Monday shooting found Brown on the side of the building. The gas station had also been struck multiple times while two clerks and a female customer were inside. The customer’s Nissan Altima was also shot while occupied by her three children (ages 7, 4 and 1) and an adult male. None of them were struck by gunfire.
