A fatal shooting late on June 15 is under investigation by Richmond County officials.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about shots fired at approximately 10:39 p.m. to the area of Essie McIntire Boulevard at Luckey Street. When deputies arrived, the found the victim, identified by Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen as Solomon Lanham, 35 of Augusta, unresponsive with a gunshot wound.
Lanham was taken to Wellstar/MCG ER where he was succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 11:15 p.m. The coroner’s office responded to the hospital regarding the homicide.
An autopsy has been scheduled. The case is currently under investigation and no other information is available at this time.
