Augusta man shot near Circle K, collapses in store

The Richmond County coroner has released the name of the Augusta man who was fatally shot early Monday near the Circle K on Peach Orchard Road.

Nathaniel Mack, 29, was pronounced dead at 3 a.m. Monday inside the store after collapsing. 

Coroner Mark Bowen said the victim was shot across the street and apparently ran to the gas station, where he died from his injuries. An autopsy is scheduled.

The sheriff’s office has not released any suspect information or possible motive.
