Family members of an Augusta man who went missing this week were organizing a search Friday around Antioich Baptist Church.

Demon Antwan Parrish, 31, was last seen on Mill Street on Monday and was last active on social media on Tuesday. He goes by D’Antwoine Parrish on Facebook and is well known as a hairdresser in the area.

Richmond County authorities have not confirmed reports that Parrish’s vehicle was found around Antioch Baptist Church, but they sent out a missing persons flyer on Thursday.

In a Friday post, Parrish’s aunt, Tamika Smith, posted an invitation to join the search at the church at Augusta Avenue and Florence Street at 11 a.m. Friday.

“We are starting the search for my nephew,” she wrote.

Others responded with support. Anderson Jainicia Padgett said, “I pray that ya’ll find something that points to him being found safe & sound!!! The city needs you D’Antwoine Parrish and we love you.”

Monicaa De added, “(I don’t want to) believe nothing else but you okay. … All I see up & down my timeline is you. The city love you so much. That alone should speak for itself.”

Parrish was last seen wearing pink sweatpants and a black jacket.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 706-821-1020 or 821-1080.
