The Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce has launched a new website designed to give employers, potential employees and students a place to go to post jobs, look for jobs and find training for jobs.

The website is www.talent2work.net and it became active this week.

The site is specific to the Augusta region, covering the Augusta Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), which includes Aiken and Edgefield Counties in South Carolina.

Regional employers can create a “digital storefront” to showcase career opportunities. The site will provide training and help choose career paths for job seekers and students.

Chairman Tom Blanchard from the chamber’s Board of Directors said, “The goal of Talent2Work is to leverage technology as a workforce solution, unique to our region, connecting all who use it as talent recruiters, talent educators and job seekers who wish to find their talent and put that talent to work.”

Chamber President and CEO Sue Parr said, thanks to a partnership with the Richmond County School System, all high school juniors and seniors have access to Talent2Work on their classroom portal.

Parr explained, “They can easily link to Talent2Work. They can explore careers, understand who the regional employers are, target those employers they may be interested in working for and build their digital resume.”

She added the timing of this could not be better. Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp and South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster both ended the federal unemployment stipend that had been bolstering state unemployment benefits.

Parr said, “Our employment market has been very disrupted through the pandemic. I believe this is going to be on the cutting edge for a lot of those job seekers who are going to re-enter the workforce.”

Employers are encouraged to sign up for the website, even if they do not currently have job openings. It will give the businesses the chance to create a “digital storefront” with photos and videos about the business.

The site already has more than 2,000 current job openings posted. There is no charge to register.
