Augusta mother sought after firing gun, nearly hitting child

Trinity Scott

Date: November 25, 2025

Richmond County authorities are searching for Trinity Lashae Scott, 19, after investigators say she fired a handgun during a domestic altercation on Monday — with one shot landing dangerously close to her 4-year-old daughter.

According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, the incident unfolded at a home on James Drive during a heated dispute between Scott and a male involved in the case. Investigators say Scott fired one round inside the residence, striking the ceiling, and later fired another round outside near the entrance of the trailer park. No injuries were reported.

The report states the altercation began over a cellphone. The man told deputies he entered Scott’s residence through her bedroom window to speak with her, unaware she had a gun. After the first shot inside the home, he left and called Scott, asking her to meet him at the mailboxes. Investigators say Scott fired a second shot while they were outside. The cellphone was later returned to Scott.

Richmond County investigators recovered the firearm at the scene and advised charges following interviews and evidence collection. Scott reportedly fled while deputies were still conducting the investigation.

Scott is now wanted on a charge of reckless conduct in connection with the shooting. She is described as 4’09”, 100 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone who has information on Trinity Scott’s whereabouts or comes into contact with her is urged to call the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division at 706-821-1080 or the on-call investigator at 706-821-1020.
