Augusta motorcycle rider killed in Tuesday crash on Walton Way Extension

A fatal crash on Walton Way Extension claimed the life of a 29-year-old Augusta man Tuesday afternoon, according to the Richmond County Coroner’s Office.

The victim, identified as James “Jack” Foster Henderson, was pronounced dead at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, Coroner Mark Bowen said. Henderson had been riding a motorcycle when the collision occurred. No additional details about the circumstances of the crash have yet been released.

Coroner Mark Bowen said the crash investigation is still in its early stages. An autopsy has been scheduled.

Authorities have not released information about other vehicles or individuals who may have been involved. The incident remains under investigation by local law enforcement.

Online, friends and family were mourning Henderson, who many referred to as “Jack.” They said he was expecting a child in the coming months.

Cameron McFalls posted this message: “Please put your thoughts and prayers out for the Henderson family. Jack was loved by so many people and was such a genuine soul.”
