Augusta Pedestrian is Struck & Killed by Train

The Coroner’s Office is investigating the death of a pedestrian that was struck by a train on Sunday afternoon.

Thomas Jennings, 25, of the 2900 block of Riverwatch Parkway, was struck by a train while walking on the tracks at Riverwatch Parkway and Claussen Road, Coroner Mark Bowen said in a press release.

Jennings was taken to Augusta University Medical Center by EMS where he was pronounced dead at :17 p.m. Sunday. Jennings died from blunt force trauma and no autopsy will be done.
